Joyce Prescher w/support The Hunter Express

Some velvet morning, 123 queens parade, Clifton hill

On 3 February Joyce Prescher and The Hunter Express team up for an intimate night at Some Velvet Morning.

Both artists released albums in 2017, which were well received. Joyce Prescher's debut album 'Home' was listed in PBS' Top 10 albums of the week; The Hunter Express' self-titled album received numerous glorious reviews and his track 'Driving' was added to rotation by Triple J Unearthed.

Joyce Prescher is a Dutch-born folk artist based in Melbourne. She manages to capture audiences with her poetic lyrics, haunting melodies and a voice that gets under your skin. On her debut album 'Home' she meditates on the hardship of living away from home, identity, love and death. Inspired by the great singer-songwriters of our time, her sound tells of her love of folk music, with hints of alt-country and Americana. Her songs are made to listen to whilst wrapped in a warm blanket, in front of a fireplace, with a glass of red in your hand.

Supported on the night by Brad Ellis from The Hunter Express, an indie rock/folk artist. Emerging out of Melbourne's vibrant indie folk scene, his first single, Home, 2016, received airplay on independent stations around Australia as well as a semi final spot in Unsigned Only songwriting competition. Ellis debuted his nostalgic, delicate sound with the independently released Bluestone Lane EP in 2016. A self titled LP, The Hunter Express followed in December 2017. The LP expands on Ellis' collective sound, driven by his distinctive vocals and storytelling manner.
